The tenth week once more provided excitement, with a huge upset for the Buffalo Bills proving the 'any given Sunday' saying that draws so many people into the National Football League
This outcome may have opened things up for the Patriots to move back into a leading position they formerly held, with a remaining games that gives them an edge over their 8-2 competitors
Over in the NFC the Seahawks and Rams had perfect results to set up a major confrontation next week, while our top performer is chasing records as well as the MVP award
The Breakdown - Simply an Off Day for Buffalo?
Could it simply have been an emotional comedown from beating the Chiefs last week or something more? That's the question for the Bills to answer
The Bills had won seven in a consecutive games against Miami but were outperformed from the beginning as the Dolphins ran out 30-13 winners in an eye-opening result - and performance
MVP Josh Allen only got the team's initial first down in the third period and initial scoring in the fourth - yes the Dolphins had ten days to get ready but it was nonetheless a significant failure laid by one of the NFL's top offences
Tua Tagovailoa threw two scores but rusher Achane was the game-changing factor, with 225 total yards and two scores
Containing the NFL's top running game was also key, with Cook and company recording just eighty-six yards, their fewest of the season and slightly more than fifty percent their 161.5 yard average
Additionally there were the three critical turnovers, and the two from Allen specifically. An interception in the end zone meaning a nine-minute possession produced nothing, and his final quarter dropped ball that the Dolphins converted to a touchdown just later
It was typical 'old Buffalo' as they shot themselves in the foot, falling into a deficit on defensive side and Allen trying to do too much to rescue his squad from the situation - rather than the composed, controlled, well-balanced Bills we've seen this year
Miami have demonstrated a varied performances this year so the verdict is uncertain on whether this is the start of something, but for the Bills they'll need an instant response in a tough game against Tampa Bay in week 11 as the Patriots are quietly moving into a comfortable advantage at the top of the AFC East
Spotlight - New England See Path to Surprise Top Seed
Speaking of the Patriots, they're among three eight and two teams in the league, all American Football Conference teams, but are they the best?
You can find flaws in the Patriots, Denver and Indianapolis really for dominating the weaker opponents, with just five of their combined twenty-four victories coming against teams with a winning record - and one example was the Indianapolis beating the Broncos
Denver beat the reigning champion Eagles in Philly and are kings of the final quarter while Indianapolis can rely on Jonathan Taylor, but the New England including Sunday's victory in Tampa to their prime time success in Buffalo appears to be a declaration
Their two defeats came in new head coach Vrabel's first three games, with seven consecutive victories, just like the Broncos, from that point - but defeating Baker Mayfield after the Buccaneers had a bye to get ready was huge
Drake Maye's MVP claims won't go away, and he certainly deserves credit for bravery after taking some hard tackles in Tampa but persevering to guide his team to success
The defensive unit is solid and first-year running back TreVeyon Henderson burst onto the scene on Sunday with 147 rushing yards and two exciting scores of fifty-five and sixty-nine yards - becoming just the fifth ball carrier to break 22mph this year on his initial touchdown
While you can debate who 'the top team' is technically, the Pats should be favorites to end with the top record thanks to their schedule - which features just a single matchup against a winning team, albeit a significant contest against Buffalo
Traveling to the Ravens is also tough, but the Broncos have it more difficult in the AFC West with the Chiefs to play twice, the Los Angeles Chargers (who might also challenge for top seed but encounter the same problem) and also the Packers on the fixture list
The Colts also play the Chiefs, and have the Seattle, 49ers and two games with the 5-4 Jaguars to contend with. There's a considerable distance to go but the door is available for a surprise top seed in the AFC
Next Week - Los Angeles and Seattle Prepare for Week 11 Showdown
Two teams with strong arguments to be superior to all of the three 8-2 sides are National Football Conference West rivals the Seahawks and Rams, who both scored 40 burgers to reach 7-2 before the upcoming Hollywood blockbuster meeting between the pair in Los Angeles
They've both won four in a consecutive games, have quarterbacks in Matthew Stafford and Darnold performing at an elite level (although Sam Darnold had ball security problems on game day) with excellent pass catchers, and defenses giving up fewer than twenty points a contest
Each could easily be without a loss as well - especially the Rams as their pair of losses occurred in extra time against the 49ers and then that painful defeat in Philly when they had a potentially winning kick with the final play blocked and returned by the Eagles for a score
The Seahawks also lost to the 49ers, with a late touchdown in the opening week, before falling to the last kick of the contest against the Tampa Bay - so they're truly two of the top teams in the NFL
The upcoming game on Sunday could be the best of the season to date
Player of the Week - Taylor
Jonathan Taylor might be on for a record season after his incredible display in Berlin - running for 244 yards, scoring three touchdowns and contributing an additional forty-two {receiving yards
