John Stones Pushed forward when in possession, something he's known for in the past. On occasion seemed hesitant in possession and the experiment was shelved after the break. Six

Dan Burn A constant threat at set pieces, per usual, but may be another option to his teammate at the back rather than his partner. One wayward ball later in the match nearly resulted in an opener from the visitors. Six

The young full-back Another composed showing from the 20-year-old after his first cap versus another side. A teammate was unable to take full advantage of a clever backheel over their defense. His position is firmly his at this stage. 7

The newcomer His first start in an England shirt. A bit sloppy when playing out however his dangerous set-pieces were a threat. An effective pace-controller available to the manager to call upon against teams who drop deep. Cautioned for a poorly timed challenge. 6

Declan Rice Crosses from dead balls and free kicks created chances. Was given license to roam down the left flank but was offside when the ball arrived in front of goal. Granted a deserved rest on the hour mark. 6

The star midfielder Functioned in a forward role out wide while also contributed with the hard yards. Displayed flashes of quality and scuffed a shot over. Withdrawn in the closing stages by a teammate, his rival, following a yellow card. 7/10

Jarrod Bowen Was presented with England’s best chance in the opening period, his strike excellently kept out by Thomas Strakosha. With a teammate holding position, he had to offer an outlet out wide although his balls from wide areas were hit and miss. Replaced for the final quarter-hour. Six

Harry Kane The decisive figure with his seventy-seventh and seventy-eighth finishes in an England shirt. The opener a trademark close-range tap-in while the second a superb headed goal after peeling away off his defender. Aged 32, he continues to improve and the side stand a real opportunity next summer with him leading the line. 8

The attacker Had difficulty to get into the game out wide. Was presented with a presentable chance following a pass by Bellingham yet Strakosha kept it out. His replacement produced a bigger influence after coming on. Five
