Soccer Analyst Sutton Faces Off Against Artist Olly Murs in Premier League Forecasts

Arsenal's 10-game winning run came to an end by Sunderland before the international break, but will the English top division frontrunners recover against north London rivals Tottenham this Sunday?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," stated football expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still manage to win."

Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this season, versus artificial intelligence, fans and a range of special visitors.

In the twelfth round, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.

The singer's new album, the new release, is available on Friday.

Soccer and Parenting Experiences

Olly is a skilled footballer as well as a accomplished artist and has been a star of several charity football games over time - but he is not planning a serious comeback as a footballer.

"{I recently played in a charity game the other evening for a mate of mine," he said. "My side was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it seriously again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my child or boy decides to play instead."

The singer and his wife his partner have two children, their daughter and their son, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by becoming their manager.

"I won't push football on our kids but I've previously told Amelia that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be managing their weekend soccer side," he said.

"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously was involved with a soccer team for a period too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I get it from. He managed our team for several years and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Top Division Predictions

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues may have to wait a bit longer for their star's return from injury but their attack is already stronger with Pedro and Delap both back fit.

I still think this fixture will be quite close, however. The Clarets are well organised and their only at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

It suggests a one-all draw to me, but I am in fact going to go with Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

The singer's pick: The Blues will be superior. 1-3

AI's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have lost their past two matches - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which surprised me.

On the other hand, West Ham won two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they appear competitive again.

The Hammers' sole away win this season came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when their manager Nuno was previously Forest coach.

So, what exactly do I go with here - will it be the Hammers extending their run under Nuno, or the home side responding?

I am going to go with Bournemouth, because I think what happened against Aston Villa was a blip.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

Olly's outlook: The home team are doing well but the visitors have picked up under their boss. 2-2

AI's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were seen as one of the favourites for relegation before the campaign started, but they have impressed a several observers under their manager and are in good form with three wins in their past four games.

My son advised me to get Brentford striker Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

The forward will probably find the net again on the weekend but I am still not going to pick him or back Brentford at Brighton's ground.

They have not had much fortune on the travel this season, and Brighton are always strong at home. The visitors will try to attack on the counter-attack but I think the home manager's side carry much more of a threat.

Sutton's prediction: 2-1

The singer's view: It could be a match where you expect there is going to be a lot of scores but it in reality proves to be quite tight. 1-1

The computer's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a huge fixture for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six matches.

Fulham have have plenty of quality in their squad but it still seems like they could be dragged into a drop zone battle.

As for the Black Cats, indeed they are the surprise package of the Premier League season so far.

The away side's display in the two-all draw with the Gunners last time out was superb. We have not witnessed any other team rough up the Gunners like that this season, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.

The sensible thing would be to support the visitors here, because they are clearly able of roughing Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they beat the Blues at the end of October.

But I am not going to do that. Instead, I really need to carry on going against the away team with my predictions. I am taking a lot of credit for their positive results because they clearly love to defy my predictions.

Looking at Fulham's home form, the only team they have lost to is the league leaders. Their manager's side will be absolutely desperate for a good outcome, so I am going to say they will secure three much-needed points.

Sutton's forecast: 1-0

Olly's prediction: I'm aware the visitors are doing well and also that Fulham are on a poor run... but they have nonetheless been decent at home this season. 2-0

AI's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a tough fixture to call. Liverpool have lost seven of their past 10 matches in all competitions, but could they be one of the teams who benefit from the {international break|
