The British player made it to the third stage in three of the four Grand Slams in the current campaign.

Britain's Emma Raducanu will not compete in her remaining competitions this season as a result of the illness she has been fighting in recent days.

Raducanu, aged 22 was due to play in events in Asia but opted to return home to regain her health before starting plans for the 2026 season.

These plans will include trainer Francisco Roig, as the pair will keep partnering again next season.

Raducanu had her blood pressure taken in her opening round against Ann Li in Wuhan and stopped playing when behind 6-1 4-1 on a day with extreme humidity.

Another medical visit was necessary medical attention at the recent Ningbo Open, where she fell in a three-set match to Chinese wildcard Zhu Lin in round one.

She was also playing far from freely in the deciding set versus Zhu owing to back discomfort that has affected her during parts of the season.

Those results followed a positive campaign, in which Raducanu rose into the world's top 30 after more than three years in more than three years, ended with three successive defeats.

The athlete was close to victory with three match points prior to falling to American player Jessica Pegula in round three in Beijing last month.

Raducanu won 28 victories this year and made it to the semi-final round in Washington, but her standout performance was at March's Miami Open.

As Britain's top player advanced to the quarters of this WTA 1000 tournament, beating eighth seed Emma Navarro during the tournament prior to a loss in three sets to the world number four Pegula.

Her coach was Mark Petchey between Miami and Wimbledon, with Roig assuming the role in time for the US Open.

The original arrangement with the ex-coach of Rafael Nadal was through the season's conclusion but they will keep working together, with a training block pencilled in for the end of the year.

The athlete revealed that a three-day test period alongside Roig after Wimbledon was like a "black ops mission" as the meeting was kept under wraps.

She came very close to defeating top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka at the first competition with Roig in Cincinnati in August.

Roig was also with Raducanu in New York, where she advanced to round three prior to losing to 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina.
