The Popular Show Season Four Unveils the Soldiers Table

From the very beginning of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master Brennan Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with rich lore, a colorful mix of characters, and a gripping narrative showcasing divine entities, evil spirits, and malevolent powers growing in influence within the urban setting.

Warning: Key plot points for Episode 3 of the new season lie ahead.

The Soldiers Table Unveiled

The third episode concluded with a huge suspense moment and introduced the initial group of characters who will split off from the central cast to embark on their own adventure, separate from the additional parties.

The Soldiers table includes the determined fighter (brought to life by Travis), the agile character (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (the cast member), the cleric (the player), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).

Why Split the Party?

Considering a large ensemble, it was evident from the start that maintaining everyone at one table would be unfeasible.

This explains, the first four episodes of the new season serve as an Overture, intertwining the individual narratives before branching into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Strategists, and Explorers.

Characteristics of the Combat Party

According to the DM, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who prefer a traditionally charged fight-heavy story mode where non-violent answers are scarce.

At first glance, characters like the squeamish cleric the cleric might appear out of place, but the actions of episode 3 demonstrate why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.

Reasons to Leave

To begin with, the group knows exactly where to go next after a brutal first encounter with The Crow Keepers.

A former ally of the deceased character—whose death kicked off the campaign’s events—used the enemy for his selfish purposes, invading the hidden lair, attacking the rogue, and stealing all the powerful objects to auction.

Casimir then cleared his liabilities and ran away to a fortified location in the remote area, beyond the city, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.

Personal Motivations

Secondly, each adventurer has a individual motive to depart Dol-Makjar:

  • Thimble, as the close ally and closest confidant, desires vengeance.
  • The knowledgeable figure knows the region and warns that it is a hostile environment.
  • Tyranny and Wicander, having disobeyed his house’s orders to eliminate Teor and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
  • Yet, their position as key figures in the powerful family could enable the team reach areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
  • Moreover, Teor vowed a unbreakable promise to Wicander for his rescue and will now accompany him everywhere.

Fugitives

Lastly, all of them are sought by the authorities that rule the city for a multiple motives, making lingering locally too risky:

  • Thimble and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
  • Tyranny and The cleric betrayed House Halovar and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
  • The target is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.

This leaves them little choice but to travel to the northern region in pursuit of the antagonist.

Future Episodes

Based on the latest episode’s post-show segment, we discover that the combat party won’t be around next week, leaving the remaining eight cast members to round up the Seekers and Strategists parties.

Fans can expect discovering which characters will be in which group in Campaign 4’s concluding setup installment, streaming live on October 24.
