Trump Calls Relatives of Shot National Guard Personnel to White House

President Trump revealed on Sunday that he has extended an invitation the relatives of a National Guard member killed last week to come to the executive mansion.

He added that he contacted her family and they were “deeply grieving”.

Details on the Heartbreaking Incident

US army specialist Sarah Beckstrom, twenty years old, was lost her life in a shooting on last Wednesday in DC.

Her fellow service member, Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, is still in the hospital in grave state.

Gatherings across the state have taken place in their memory.

White House Call

The commander-in-chief said he’s proposed a White House visit for the families of both soldiers of the state Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a difficult moment, come to the White House. We’re going to honor Sarah,” the president addressed the press. “And in the same way with him, no matter the outcome.”

Community Response

Mourners assembled over the past few days at a local school in the state to pay respects to Beckstrom.

Both they had been serving with the West Virginia National Guard as part of Trump’s government program to support law enforcement in the capital.

Honoring the Soldier

“She was the kind of student that teachers wished for. She carried herself with calm resilience, a bright grin and a positive energy that inspired those around her,” Jarrod Hankins, the head of her previous school, told the press. “She was caring, compassionate and always eager to assist people.”

Funeral plans for Beckstrom are yet to be finalized.

Judicial Actions and Policy Revisions

Law enforcement have charged a 29-year-old individual from Afghanistan with a charge of murder and charges of violent assault while carrying a weapon.

The tragedy caused the administration to suspend asylum processing and halt issuing entry permits to owners of passports from Afghanistan.

Condition of Wolfe

Andrew Wolfe, a resident of the city, started his military career in February 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of his local high school, as reported by the Associated Press.

He continues to receive treatment and is “battling to survive”, the state’s leader Patrick Morrisey mentioned on television.

The state’s top lawyer Pam Bondi stated on the program that she planned to visit Wolfe’s family.

Legacy of Beckstrom

Beckstrom, from her hometown, graduated from Webster County High in mid-2023 and joined the military shortly after, working as a military police officer with distinction, per the West Virginia National Guard.

“She had a lot of kindness and she definitely had fortitude,” the governor informed the crowd at the service. “Though her time lasted far too short, she has created a legacy that’s going to be remembered always.”
