The co-creator of Call of Duty, renowned for co-creating the wildly popular video game Call of Duty, has passed away in a traffic collision in Los Angeles, California aged 55.

The tragic news was announced by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, a game studio which he helped establish.

The influential industry figure died after his vehicle was involved in a crash and was engulfed in flames on a freeway in LA on this past Sunday, according to.

"We are facing a heartbreaking loss, and we stand with Vince's loved ones, his loved ones, and everyone impacted by his work," a spokesperson for Electronic Arts said.
